Harry, later known as George, was born on October 8th 1904 at Fittleton. He appears in the 1911 census.
He volunteered for Royal Navy on 14th June 1921 signing up for 12 years.
He commenced service on 8th October (his 17th birthday) as a Boy 2nd class, in HMS “Impregnable”
On entry he was 5’6” tall, chest 35”, dk brown hair, blue eyes, sallow complexion.
On 22nd January 1934 he signed up ‘to complete time for pension.
